Water Quality

EO for SDG Water Quality Indicator

Water Quality

Earth Observation is an under-realized tool to increase spatial coverage and temporal consistency in waterbody level reporting. The aim of this project is to define the pathway that will ensure usability of EO data to achieve of UN’s Sustainable Development Goal Indicator 6.3.2: ’Proportion of bodies of water with good ambient water quality’.

This short-term seed project, funded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Water Quality Alliance (WWQA), will include 3 activities that will set the direction for a future global tool: its co-design, the development of the indicator, and the creation of the user dashboard.

isardSAT will take part in selection and definition of water quantity as a complementary parameter to water quality, as well as the evaluation of case studies.
